Onism- n.- the awareness of how little of the world you’ll experience

Origin: Danish

Our world is massive.  There are 196 countries, spread out on 7 continents, separated by 5 huge oceans.  We have deep valleys, jagged mountains, wide rivers, arid deserts, and lush jungles.  There are millions of different species of flora and fauna.  The people in other parts of the world live by different customs, eat different food, and speak a different language.  There is too much out there.  And once you realize this, you begin to feel it is impossible to see it all.  Except it’s not.  It’s only impossible if you don’t take risks.  You have to get out of your comfort zone and get onto the next flight, boat, bus, or train to somewhere.  Maybe then you will become more aware of how much awesomeness you’re missing out on.

Explore on.
